Terms of Use

Last updated: 22 August 2026

1. About these terms

These terms govern access to KinderByte by nursery owners, staff, parents, carers and other authorised users. The nursery's service agreement and its own policies may add requirements. If there is a conflict, the signed service agreement takes priority for the nursery organisation.

2. Authorised use

Use KinderByte only for legitimate childcare, education, safeguarding, administration and family-communication purposes authorised by the nursery. You must follow applicable law, nursery policy and role permissions.

3. Accounts and security

Keep credentials confidential, use only your own account and notify the nursery immediately about suspected misuse. Do not bypass permissions, probe security, introduce malicious code, scrape records or allow another person to use your session. The nursery may suspend access to protect children, users or the service.

4. Children's records and content

Upload only accurate, relevant information you are authorised to provide. Photos, documents and messages about children must not be copied or shared outside authorised purposes. The nursery remains responsible for its records, lawful basis, permissions, retention decisions and responding to data-subject requests.

5. Notifications and third-party services

Mobile notifications depend on device settings and Expo, Apple or Google delivery services and are not guaranteed. Optional payment, email, monitoring, hosting and AI features may depend on third-party terms and availability. Do not use a notification as the sole channel for urgent safeguarding or emergency communication.

6. Availability and changes

KinderByte aims to provide a reliable service but may be unavailable for maintenance, security work or circumstances outside reasonable control. Features may change to improve safety, compliance or performance. Material changes to these terms will be published on this page or communicated through the nursery.

7. Intellectual property

KinderByte software, design and service materials remain owned by their respective rights holders. Users retain rights in content they are authorised to upload and grant the permissions needed to host, process, display and transmit it for the service.

8. Ending access

Users may stop using KinderByte and ask the nursery to close their access. The nursery or KinderByte may restrict or end access for security, legal, contractual or misuse reasons. Record retention and deletion continue under the Privacy Notice and the nursery's legal duties.

9. Responsibility

Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility that cannot legally be excluded. KinderByte is a record and communication tool; professional safeguarding, medical, educational, employment and financial decisions remain the responsibility of qualified people and the nursery.
